Founded in 1946, Fender Musical Instruments Corporation has been an American icon for over 50 years. In that time, Fender’s contribution to the evolving sound of contemporary music has been global and continuous. By introducing the first commercially viable solidbody electric guitar, the first electric bass and countless classic amplifiers, Fender musical instruments have left their mark on jazz, blues, country, rock and many other styles of popular music.

The Taye Manufacturing Company, family owned, was established in 1975 to make drums and hardware, behind the scenes, for other musical instrument manufacturers. By 1999, Taye had become a key supplier to the music industry. We felt strongly that it was time to develop our own line of drums. At this critical juncture, the Taye Drums brand emerged in 2000 under the stewardship of Ray Ayotte.

On a sunny afternoon in 1968, a Stanford University educated engineer, walked into his local music store, carrying an amplifier he had made in his garage. It had a unique design that impressed the storeowner, as well as a local club musician named Carlos Santana, who bought it the next day and took it to Woodstock. Over three decades and thousands of amplifiers later, Bob Gallien is still designing some of the most innovative and highly sought after products on the market. His creations enjoy a heritage of recording and stage performances with the world’s most discriminating artists.
